Meatless Farm secures Tesco listing

UK meat-alternative brand Meatless Farm has announced that it has secured a listing in Tesco, meaning it is now stocked in the four main UK supermarket chains (Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco).

From 17th June, Tesco will stock Meatless Farm’s plant-based mince (400g), two-pack of fresh burger patties, and six-pack of sausages. The products will be available in 117 of Tesco’s largest stores.

Research has shown that over a third of meat-eating Brits are eating more plant-based food during the pandemic (OnePoll survey of 2,000 UK adults, May 20); Meatless Farm are capitalising on this boom, having aired its first national TV advertising campaign in May.

Morten Toft Bech, founder of Meatless Farm, says: “Tesco is the UK’s largest food retailer, and its support for Meatless Farm shows that plant-based is no longer a challenger category but fast becoming part of daily British food culture. Tesco’s reach means that more consumers will have the chance to try plant-based alternatives and start to make small changes to the way they eat. With more and more people swapping to meat-free, added to our constant focus on innovation, health and sustainability, Meatless Farm is well positioned to continue growing at a phenomenal pace.”
